PAA Europe
This year the PAA-E annual meeting will be held at Bonn and Saint Augustin during Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th September 2009. PAA-E's 2009 meetings will take place on the occasion of the new exhibition, James Cook and the Exploration of the Pacific at the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn. This year’s symposium will take the theme “Historical Connections: the Legacies of Science and Collecting in the 18th Century.”
Registration Fees: Register today for PAA-E annual meeting 2009! Reduced rates will be offered to those who pre-register by August 15. Pre-registration is highly recommended. Reduced fee for students and unemployed colleagues will also be available. Coffee/tea breaks and a small lunch on Saturday September 19 hosted at Bundeskunsthalle. Location and dates: Friday 18th will be spent at Saint Augustin (20 minutes by tram from Bonn), where it will be possible to visit the collections. Saturday and Sunday morning will be at Bonn. The meeting will close at 12.00 on Sunday.

Accommodation: Hotels should be booked well in advance. Mid-range hotel prices start from € 70-100 for double occupancy. Accommodation in downtown Bonn or Bad Godesberg is recommended as both places are easily accessible by underground to/from the Bundeskunsthalle. Call for papers: The theme for this year's symposium will be “Historical Connections: the Legacies of Science and Collecting in the 18th Century.” There will be time for about 10 papers of 30 minutes duration (including questions) and about 5 short reports of 12 minutes duration. Those wishing to offer papers or reports please send a title and abstract (50-100 words) to Dieter Heintze (dhtz@nord-com.net), Philippe Peltier (philippe.peltier@quaibranly.fr) or Antje Kelm (antjekelm@gmx.de). The deadline to apply is Monday June 15. The programme will be announced by July 15.
