Wanda Anae-Onishi

Wanda Anae-Onishi has received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Master of Arts in Pacific Art History from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

She is currently the Collections Manager of the Art in Public Places Collection at the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. The Art in Public Places Collection is the State of Hawai‘i’s art collection. Additionally, she is a part-time Cultural Collections Technician at the Bishop Museum. Both institutions are located in Honolulu. She recently curated “Ho‘oulu: The Inspiration of Hula,” a hula-themed exhibit at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum (HiSAM) with works from the Art in Public Places Collection. HiSAM was established within the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts in 2002. Wanda was involved as a student intern with the inaugural exhibits by writing the interpretation for the works on display. She became briefly HiSAM’s Museum Educator before devoting her full attention to the pursuit of her Master’s degree at U.H.
