I. INTRODUCTION
The Pacific Arts Association (PAA), was founded in 1974 and established as an association in 1978. We are an international organisation devoted to the study of all the arts of Oceania.
The Pacific Arts Association is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organisation in the United States, EIN: 61-2180890. Our Registration number is CC11225.
These terms constitute an agreement between you, the website user, (‘you’, ‘your’) and us. Your use of pacificarts.org is governed by these terms and our Privacy Policy. By accessing and using this website you agree that you have read and understood and agree to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy.
II. PRIVACY
Where we collect personal information about you as a result of your accessing or use of pacificarts.org, our Privacy Policy will apply to that information.
III. CHANGES
We may add to, modify, suspend, or remove pacificarts.org or any information, material or feature incorporated in this website at any time and without notice. We may change these terms from time to time by amending the terms and any amendment will be effective from the date the updated terms are posted on pacificarts.org. By continuing to access or use this website following such publication you accept the revised terms.
IV. YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE
When using pacificarts.org, you must not:

- transmit or upload any information to pacificarts.org which is not true and correct or which may be misleading or deceptive, or which is in breach of any intellectual property laws, rights or any other applicable law;
- either knowingly or otherwise, provide a materially false or fraudulent statement, detail or information when registering an account with us or otherwise in connection with your use of the website;
- alter, modify, reproduce, transmit or otherwise deal with the content, software, text, graphics, layout or design of the website otherwise than in accordance with clause 14;
- copy, modify, adapt, enhance, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or transmit pacificarts.org (or any part of them), or attempt to do the same, without our express written consent, except as expressly permitted by the law;
- attempt to defeat, avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, or otherwise circumvent any software protection mechanisms in the website including any mechanisms used to restrict or control the functionality of the software;

- remove any copyright, trade mark, or proprietary rights notices included in or on the website and any materials or information accessed through the website;

V. THIRD PARTY MATERIALS AND INTERFACES
Certain content and materials available through this website may include materials owned by third parties. You must not use any third party materials in a manner that would infringe or violate the rights of any person. We are not in any way responsible for any such use by you.
VI. YOUR ACCOUNT
At any time you can contact us to:
1] Request copies of your personally identifying information that PAA has recorded.
2] Submit corrections and changes to information that we have about you that is incomplete, incorrect, or out of date.
3] Request that we delete your information from our records. Notify us that you are opting out of further PAA communications.
We will respond to these requests to the best of our ability and in accordance with the law. Please be advised that although we may remove your personally identifiable information from our mailing lists, we may be required to retain some records of membership transactions for tax purposes.
VII. YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD
Our servers and databases are located in Aotearoa New Zealand. We, and our third-party contractors, collect and store the information described above in Aotearoa New Zealand. Laws concerning the storage and use of personally identifiable information in Aotearoa New Zealand may be less protective than the laws in your jurisdiction.
By using pacificarts.org, you expressly consent to the collection, storage, and use of your personally identifiable information in Aotearoa New Zealand. You are responsible for complying with your local laws, rules, and regulations regarding online conduct and access to the website. If you live in a country where accessing websites based in Aotearoa New Zealand is prohibited, you should cease using the PAA website.
VIII. OTHER USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We only collect your personally identifiable information when you knowingly provide it to us. We may receive this information during the following interactions:
- When you become a member of PAA.
- When you renew your membership or rejoin PAA.
- When you register for a PAA Symposium or Event (for example, PAA Currents).
- When you propose an event for PAA sponsorship (for example, the PAA panel at the College Art Association annual conference).
- When you make a donation to PAA.
PAA does not store any login credentials you use to register for a PAA event. All payments are processed through PayPal, and PAA does not have access to your PayPal login credentials or financial information. Whesn making membership or event registration payments, website users provide their names, addresses, and payment information to PayPal.
PAA’s privacy statement only covers the processing of personal data for which PAA is responsible, namely, contact details for the administration of membership and events. For everything else, those concerned should read PayPal’s privacy statement.
IX. ONLINE PAYMENT PROCESS
We employ external technologies and contractors who provide specialized services to PAA, including credit card processing, event registration, and website development for PAA. To process membership payments and ensure our emails reach all PAA members, we may, in select cases, need to provide these outside contractors with some of your personally identifiable information. Our agreements with these contractors (data processors under the GDPR) include protections for your personally identifiable information and the understanding that any information provided can only be used for PAA services.
By making a payment through pacificarts.org you authorise us or our nominated third-party payment service provider, PayPal, to charge your credit card or bank account using the details supplied by you.
If there is a problem with your payment (for example, if your credit card transaction is declined), we may contact you to make alternative payment arrangements.
All transactions should show our name as Pacific Arts Association, and we are a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States, EIN: 61-2180890. Our Registration number is CC11225.
X. DONATIONS
This website may enable you to give money to us as a ‘donation’. All donations made through pacificarts.org, or through any other means, are donated to the us and not to any other person.
No amount given to us shall become a receipted donation (‘Receipted Donation’) except to the extent that we issue a receipt in relation to that amount. We will issue a receipt when we decide, in our absolute discretion.
XI. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
You must not use or reproduce or allow anyone to use or reproduce any Pacific Arts Association graphics, and logos marks for any reason without our prior written permission in each case.
The website, including all materials displayed on, or accessed through pacificarts.org are protected by copyright and other laws in New Zealand, and under similar laws and international conventions abroad. Unless otherwise stated, copyright and other intellectual property rights in the website and all material published belong to us or to our licensors.
The software that operates pacificarts.org may include proprietary software and you may not use such software except as expressly allowed under these terms. Any other use or purported licensing, modification, enhancement or interference of such elements is strictly prohibited.
Except in accordance with clause 11 or with our prior written permission, you may not in any form or by any means:
